Sleep Comfort Depot

Policy

Privacy Policy

Sleep Comfort Depot is owned, operated and published by Essential Systems, the controller responsible for the enquiry information described here. We intend to sell website enquiries to UK businesses for a fee. Lead sales are currently disabled: submitting an enquiry does not authorize a sale or partner marketing. This notice describes current handling and the safeguards required before that proposed use begins. We do not process online orders or payments.

Information We Collect

When you submit an enquiry or quote request through our contact form, we collect the information you provide: your name, email address, an optional phone number, the product you are interested in, and the message you write. We do not require you to create an account or provide payment details to use this site.

  • Name and email address, so we can respond to you
  • Phone number, only if you choose to provide one
  • Product of interest, to route your enquiry appropriately
  • Message content, to understand and answer your question
  • Privacy notice version and submission time, to record which notice the form displayed; these are not marketing consent

Cookies and Local Storage

We use only essential cookies and browser local storage: one to remember your cookie-consent choice, and one to maintain an administrator’s sign-in session. We do not currently use analytics or advertising cookies. If we introduce analytics in the future, we will only do so with your consent. See our Cookie Policy for more detail.

How We Use Your Information

We use enquiry details to handle your question or quote request, keep relevant communications, and respond to privacy requests. Where UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, steps you request before a potential contract may rely on the pre-contractual lawful basis; general correspondence and proportionate security or recordkeeping may rely on legitimate interests, subject to your rights. Legal obligations may require limited record retention. We do not treat submitting this form, accepting website terms or accepting analytics cookies as consent to sell data.

Please do not include health diagnoses, payment information or other sensitive personal data in your message. We do not seek special-category information for lead sales.

Proposed Sale of Enquiries to UK Businesses

We propose to receive payment from UK businesses for relevant product enquiries. The proposed information is your name, contact details, product interest and relevant enquiry content. No buyers have yet been identified in this notice, and no enquiry is currently authorized for sale through this form.

Before starting consent-based sharing, we will identify the actual recipients, explain their purposes and the information they receive, link to their privacy notices, and provide separate, optional choices for the relevant contact methods. You can submit an ordinary enquiry without agreeing. Consent must be specific, informed, freely given and withdrawable; a generic reference to UK companies is not permission for unsolicited partner email or text marketing.

Buyers may act as independent controllers of information lawfully provided to them. Before any disclosure, Essential Systems must check the applicable lawful basis, channel-specific marketing permissions, buyer safeguards and data-sharing arrangements. Existing enquiries are not retrospectively covered by a new notice or later change to terms.

Service Providers and International Processing

Authorized staff and hosting or database providers supporting Essential Systems may process information to run the website and handle enquiries, subject to appropriate safeguards. We may also disclose information where legally required. These operational uses do not authorize a commercial lead sale.

The proposed buyers are in the UK, while visitors may be in the US or elsewhere. Applicable privacy and marketing laws depend on the visitor, controller, recipient and processing involved. Before sharing, we must assess international processing and any restricted onward transfers and put required safeguards in place. We do not claim that all website information is stored in the UK.

Retention

We retain enquiries only for as long as reasonably necessary to handle the request, maintain relevant records or meet legal obligations, then delete or anonymize them. No fixed retention period has yet been set for a lead-sale program, which is not active. Any program must establish and disclose suitable retention periods before it starts. Minimal objection or suppression records may need to be kept to prevent unwanted future contact.

How We Protect Your Information

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information you share with us from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. Access to enquiry submissions is limited to authorized personnel of Essential Systems.

Your Choices

Use our contact form and select ‘Privacy / do not sell or share my data’ to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability where applicable, or to object to processing. Include enough information to identify your enquiry, but do not send identity documents unless requested through a suitable secure method. We may need to verify your identity. GDPR requests are normally answered within one month; any permitted extension and its reason will be explained.

Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it at any time through the same form without affecting processing already lawfully undertaken. You have an absolute right to object to direct marketing. We will stop the relevant marketing and, if information has lawfully been shared, take required steps to inform recipients of applicable requests.

US state privacy laws may give additional rights, including opting out of sale or sharing where those laws apply. You can use the same form without agreeing to marketing; we will not discriminate for exercising applicable privacy rights. No lead-sale program is active. Applicable opt-out preference signals and other state-law requirements must be assessed and supported before such a program begins.

If you are dissatisfied with our handling, you may complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or the relevant privacy regulator where you live.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. The effective date below shows when this version took effect, and we encourage you to review this page periodically.
